Terms of Service

Version 2026-08-06 · Effective 6 August 2026

Christian Rentals is a service operated by Faithful App Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17247090, with its registered office at 124-128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, England. These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Faithful App Ltd(“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, accepting these Terms during sign-up, or using the platform, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use Christian Rentals.

1. What Christian Rentals is — and is not

  • Christian Rentals is an online listings and introductions platform that helps people advertise, discover and make contact about rooms and properties to let.
  • We are not a letting agent, landlord, tenant, property manager, or party to any tenancy, licence or other agreement made between users. We do not view properties, hold deposits, handle rent, or arrange tenancies.
  • Any agreement to let, rent, share or occupy a property is made solely between the users involved. You are responsible for your own decisions and dealings.
  • Christian Rentals is built for the Christian community, but it is open to anyone who wishes to use it. We do not refuse access on the basis of religion or belief, and faith and church details are always optional. Where you choose to share them, they are used only to power community and faith-based matching.

2. Eligibility & your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. We ask you to confirm you are 18 or over when you create your account.
  • Christian Rentals is built around Christian community, but membership is open to everyone: we do not require any belief or church connection to create an account, browse, list, apply or message, and we never refuse the service on grounds of religion or belief.
  • You must give accurate information, keep it up to date, and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Identity verification is optional but strongly encouraged. Advertisers who are not verified are clearly flagged to other users and rank below verified ones. Verification confirms an identity document was checked by our provider — it is nota guarantee of any person’s character, conduct, solvency, or intentions.

3. Verification, references & badges are not guarantees

ID verification, church references, “approved” badges and any other trust signals are provided to help you make your own judgement. They are indicators only. We do not warrant the identity, honesty, reliability, immigration status, financial standing or suitability of any user, nor the accuracy of any listing, reference or message. You must carry out your own checks — including viewing the property in person, verifying ownership or the right to let, checking references independently, and confirming any tenancy paperwork — before paying money or entering any agreement.

4. Keep communication and payments on the platform

  • You agree to communicate through Christian Rentals’s in-app messaging when arranging viewings and applications. On-platform messaging protects you: it keeps a record, helps us detect fraud, and means we can act on reports.
  • Do not solicit or agree to move conversations, payments or dealings off the platform in order to avoid fees, verification, or these Terms. Requests to pay a deposit or rent before viewing, to pay by bank transfer to secure a room sight-unseen, or to take contact off-platform early are common signs of a scam — report them.
  • Never send money to anyone you have not met and whose property you have not viewed. Christian Rentals does not process rent or deposits and will never ask you to pay a landlord or tenant through us.
  • If you choose to communicate, pay, or deal off-platform, you do so entirely at your own risk, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not responsible for the consequences.

5. Listings & fees

  • If you advertise as a landlord or agent, you must have the legal right to let the room or property. If you advertise as a current resident finding a housemate, you confirm you live there and are permitted to look for someone — and that the landlord or agent makes the final decision on any new tenancy.
  • Listings must be genuine, accurate and lawful.
  • Your right to cancel. When you buy a listing, a Boost or an identity check you normally have 14 days to cancel. Because we start straight away, we ask you at checkout to confirm you want that and to acknowledge you may lose the right to cancel once the service has been fully performed. Fees for services fully performed with your consent are non-refundable, except where the law says otherwise. If you have not asked us to start, you keep the full 14 days.
  • Where you are matters. Renting law is devolved. If you advertise a property in Scotland as a landlord or agent, the law requires your landlord registration number to appear on the advert (or a statement that your application is still being processed), so we ask for it and show it on your listing. In Wales, Rent Smart Wales registration and licensing duties apply.
  • We cannot currently accept property in Northern Ireland. Equality and renting law there works differently from Great Britain, and we are taking legal advice before we open. This limits where a property can be, not who can use Christian Rentals: anyone in Northern Ireland is welcome to join, search, apply and message.
  • We may refuse, edit, suspend or remove any listing or account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe it is fraudulent, misleading, unlawful, or in breach of these Terms.

6. Our role as an introductions service

  • Christian Rentals charges only for advertising: a one-off listing fee (where it applies) and optional paid extras such as Boost or identity verification. We do notcharge commission, a finder’s fee or a placement fee when an introduction leads to a let, and we take no cut of any rent or deposit.
  • We provide the introduction only. We are not the landlord, agent or a party to any tenancy, licence or other agreement you reach, and we are not responsible for it (see sections 1 and 10). You are responsible for your own checks, viewings and paperwork before any money changes hands.
  • You must not misuse the platform — for example to harvest other members’ details, to advertise something you are not entitled to advertise, or to solicit members for unrelated purposes.

7. Acceptable use & prohibited content

You agree not to post, send or do any of the following:

  • Anything unlawful, or that facilitates a crime — including fraud or scams, money laundering, threats, harassment, stalking, hate speech, content that is defamatory, or content that is illegal to share.
  • Unlawful discrimination. Shared-household lettings may lawfully state certain sharer preferences; you are responsible for staying within the Equality Act 2010 and related law.
  • Fraud, spam, scraping, impersonation, or misrepresentation of a listing, a reference, or anyone’s verification status.
  • Content you do not have the right to post, or that infringes anyone else’s rights.
  • Any content that is obscene, or that sexualises, endangers or exploits a child. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material and will report it to the authorities.

8. Reporting, moderation & unlawful content

  • Every listing, profile and conversation has a report option. If you see something unlawful or against these Terms, report it, or email hello@christianrentals.org.
  • We review reports and may remove content, and warn, suspend or remove accounts, with or without notice. Where content is unlawful we act to take it down and, where appropriate, preserve evidence and notify the police or other authorities.
  • As a user-to-user service we take proportionate steps to protect users from illegal content and to meet our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023. If you are unhappy with a moderation decision you can ask us to review it via hello@christianrentals.org.

9. Your responsibility & indemnity

You are solely responsible for your interactions, agreements and conduct with other users. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your listings or content, or your dealings with other users.

10. Our liability

We provide Christian Rentalswith reasonable care and skill, but the platform is provided “as is” and we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing or user is genuine or suitable.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded — including your non-excludable rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: the acts, omissions, conduct or content of any user; the condition, safety, legality or existence of any property; any tenancy, deposit, payment or agreement between users; any loss arising from off-platform dealings; or any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity. Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the platform is limited to the greater of (a) the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and (b) £100.

11. Suspension & termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect users or the platform. Some records are retained where we are legally required to do so.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes we will update the version and effective date above and may ask you to accept the new version before continuing to use Christian Rentals. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, save that if you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction. Nothing here affects your mandatory local consumer rights.

Safety tip: view every property in person, confirm the landlord’s right to let, and never pay a deposit or rent before you have viewed the property and verified who you are dealing with. Keep it on Christian Rentals — if something feels off, use the report button.
